Aerial Conflict

Aerial Conflict

Salterns Road, 3rd September, 2023

They compete for supremacy of the sky,
Two birds together above the trees,
One circling sedately on the breeze,
One haranguing and heckling with hoarse cry.
But the crow is all alone today,
With no mob of friends to join in the chase
So the buzzard turns, meets it face to face,
And defiantly drives the crow away.
Tomorrow the crows might work as a team,
But today the buzzard reigns supreme.
