Sermon for the first Sunday of Advent, looking at the theme of hope. In the Old Testament, hope of the coming Messiah; In the New Testament, hope of our redemption and resurrection with Jesus.
Hope is waiting in God,
looking expectantly toward the future,
based on our relationship with God in the present,
and evidence of his faithfulness in the past.
