Three Bird Haikus

Cheerful chirrup above my head,
Bright flashes of yellow and red –
Goldfinch.

Cormorant – perched on a pole,
Alert, erect,
Like a guardsman on duty.

Two proud parents, dressed in white,
Six toddlers, cute, fluffy, grey –
Swans and cygnets.
