Cheerful chirrup above my head,
Bright flashes of yellow and red –
Goldfinch.
Cormorant – perched on a pole,

Among the leaf mould.
Breeze-blown clouds
Scud across the blue sky.
The view to Corfe crisp, clean,
Scoured by successive showers.

Heralding the spring.
